Sales and business development

Pipeline is a system.
Hiring is not a strategy.

When the number is missed, the reflex is to add reps or add channels. Both of those make an unclear story louder. The fix is upstream: who buys, why, and what your team is actually carrying into the conversation.

What we build

The three things reps are usually missing

Buyer map and sales strategy

Who actually decides, who quietly blocks it, and what each of them needs to hear. Most reps are missing the map, not the motivation.

Enablement they will use

The narrative, the objection handling and the qualification your team will genuinely carry — rather than a deck nobody opens twice.

Partnerships and channel

Reaching buyers who will never answer an outbound email, through the people they already trust. Slower to build, much harder to copy.

Engagements start at three months. Some run well past a year — it depends on the work and the projects it turns into. Either way I am embedded with the team rather than booked into a monthly advisory slot, and we start with positioning, because everything downstream inherits it.

Teams where effort is not the problem

Activity is high and the number still misses. In my experience that is almost never a discipline problem, and almost always a clarity one.

Questions

Common questions

Why is my sales team missing quota despite high activity?

Almost always a clarity problem rather than a discipline one. Reps are usually missing a map of who actually buys and a story they can carry, not motivation. Adding headcount to an unclear story just makes it louder.

What does sales enablement mean here?

The narrative, the objection handling and the qualification your team will genuinely use — not a deck nobody opens twice. If reps invent their own version, the enablement failed.

Do you do partnerships and channel as well as direct sales?

Yes. Partnerships reach buyers who will never answer an outbound email, through people they already trust. Slower to build and much harder for a competitor to copy. At Exberry that meant AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Finastra, Trading Technologies and BMLL.

Do you hire and manage the sales team?

No. The work is the system the team operates inside — the buyer map, the story and the motion. Hiring stays with you.

How long before this shows up in pipeline?

Engagements start at three months, which is roughly the earliest you can see whether a change in the story is moving conversations. Full sales cycles in enterprise and regulated markets take longer than that to close.

Missing the number with a busy team?

Thirty minutes, no pitch. We look at where deals actually stall and whether the story is the thing breaking.
